The PD Committee set the learning objectives and subject matter experts had various knowledge sets and were available at various times. The challenge was to articulate the performance outcomes and get the information from the volunteer SMEs into a coherent course.
We worked used the success orientation approach to structure the project. This involved working with the client to identify the performance needs and design learning outcomes and learner experience. The project manager utilised templates to structure the information gathered by the SMEs.
The course was piloted, evaluated and modified and has been rolled out Nationally and have been in use for a number of years. Participant feedback of the content is very high, with organisations requesting customised versions to their business. Finally, the transparent structuring of the materials means ongoing maintenance of the materials is sustainable.
