Are we seeing the end of the Articulate Storyline perpetual licenses with the release of Articulate 3 this month?
You’ll know what a huge fan we are of Storyline, so it is with a mixture of sadness and enthusiasm that we see the release of Storyline 3.
In the workplace learning stream there were some really interesting takeaways. Here is a brief summary of some of the standouts.
I am about to board a plane on my way home after the annual Moodle Conference in Melbourne. The many words I have heard and spoken over the last week are floating around in my head and the one I keep repeating is “Bricoleur”. A bricoleur is a tinkerer who constructs and sculpts using whatever comes to hand.
I’ve been working with a client doing some heavy duty instructional design work (three courses to be developed in a short period of time). This is working with a writers over different disciplines and has me thinking about instructional design… and why I love it!
I have written a few blog posts on gamification and we realised that while we talk about gamification (and there is a growing amount of information out there), it might be worth doing an ‘introduction to gamification’ webinar and blog.

This year’s Australasian Moodle Moot’s theme was ‘Evolution’ – and the keynote address by Alec Couros swept us into the future with his vision of the educational potential offered by the tools of connectivity. The examples Alec shared of openness in education, networked learning, social media in education, digital citizenship, and critical media literacy were very inspiring and set the tone for an evolutionary conference.

Strategic and practical commitment from all levels of management is essential. Remember the movie Shallow Hal with Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow?
For those of you who haven’t seen it, Jack Black starts off as a shallow jerk who – after a magical encounter with Anthony Robbins in a lift – sees people’s inner beauty on the outside. The plain yet deep and loving become beautiful/handsome. The beautiful yet selfish and cruel have their inner flaws revealed as physical ugliness.
